AIA Overview
Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA), founded in 1994, is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to support and benefit organizations which engage in or support youth activities in the performing arts. These include elements of music, choreography, and theatre in color guard, percussion, and winds units. In 2015 AIA reorganized into two regions; AIA North and AIA South. AIA facilitates competitions throughout Virginia and North Carolina and currently serves over 200 member units.
Atlantic Indoor Association strives to promote education and continued growth for performers. Each year AIA awards scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence, school and community involvement and a passion for the performing arts. AIA awards $4000+ in scholarships to performers each year.
AIA Executive Board
Atlantic Indoor Association is operated year-round by a team of dedicated volunteers and has no full-time staff. Atlantic Indoor Association is a not for profit 501(c)3 member organization operating under the leadership of the Executive Board of Directors as elected by region by the general membership. In addition to the EBOD leadership, there are multiple non-voting appointed staff positions created to manage and organize the operations of the circuit.
